Big Pharma does not tolerate competition

by Dr. Johanna Weber //

...and can also enforce this via the EU, ergo with the help of taxpayers' money [46]. Particularly in anticipation of further possible pandemics (just think of the WHO pandemic treaty in connection with Disease X), it is worth taking a closer look at the underlying political mechanisms [47, 48, 49, 50]. Time and again, more effective remedies and methods are suppressed within the framework of EU approval so that there is still a need for less helpful drugs from the pharmaceutical industry. This happened, for example, during the coronavirus pandemic [51], but also during previous flu epidemics. A good example of this is the medicinal plant Cistus incanus (rockrose)*.

Cistus incanus is effective against influenza [16] and bird flu [17], among other things, but does not immunize the viruses against the active ingredient [17]. In the case of swine and bird flu, however, Cistus had to fight against Tamiflu and Relenza as competing products. The efficacy of Relenza is largely unexplored [18]. For Tamiflu, there were signs of interactions and side effects  with only low efficacy [19, 20].  The drug was one of Roche's best-selling in 2006 and was developed with the help of Monash University, which is sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the  pharmaceutical giant Gilead Sciences [19, 20, 26, 27, 28, 45]. Gilead Sciences, which markets the coronavirus drug Remdesivir, had acquired the companies AstraZeneca and MYR Pharmaceuticals in the run-up to the pandemic [19, 21, 22]. MYR's profits had risen rapidly since the start of the pandemic, as had those of the vaccine manufacturer Biontech (see Fig. 1 and 2). Monash University supports the controversial Agenda for Sustainable Development [23, 24, 25, 41]. Monash University also works with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as part of the World Mosquito Program, which also holds shares in large pharmaceutical companies and had made profits from the marketing of the novel corona vaccines [26, 27, 28]. The university is therefore closely linked to global players in the pharmaceutical sector. Of course, vaccine manufacturers have an interest in ensuring that there is no competition against the background of the above-mentioned interdependencies.

It has been repeatedly claimed that the novel coronavirus vaccines are indispensable because there are no effective drugs against coronavirus, but this is not true. Various drugs are effective against coronaviruses or the symptoms that occur with a coronavirus infection or can be used for prevention [29]. In a study by the Fraunhofer Institute in Leipzig, Cistus also showed an inhibitory effect on SARS-CoV-2 replication in vitro [30], with the results suggesting that an effect will also be seen in vivo when used in real humans [4, 43]. A study by a medical practice suggests this [42, 44].

According to the EU Novel Food Regulation, plants and plant parts that are to be placed on the market in the EU are subject to special regulations [31, 32]. This is questionable insofar as the EU, which is financed by taxpayers' money from the member states, which  is subject to conflicts of interest in various areas [33, 34, 35], is thus given a very high degree of control. Stella Kyriakides, who has already attracted attention with questionable statements on the approval procedure for the novel coronavirus vaccines, chairs the commission investigating this: Kyriakides denied von der Leyen's important and at the same time questionable role in the approval, although proceedings are currently underway against von der Leyen and the EU Commission  [36. 37, 38]. Kyriakides was significantly involved in the EU negotiations on the purchase of vaccines [39]. The people who can prevent the approval of herbal remedies therefore decide on the approval of competing pharmaceutical products at the same time. The review may therefore be to the advantage of the large pharmaceutical companies. In the context of the approval of insects as a novel food, on the other hand, the review was carried out rather lightly; the only company that is currently allowed to market insects in the EU, CricketOne, also comes from the internationally well-connected globalist environment [40]. The Novel Food Regulation implemented with the help of taxpayers' money therefore does not support the interests of consumers, but rather those of those who are already making good money. Especially in view of the possibility of further pandemics, this gives pause for thought. It would not be in the interests of taxpayers if, in the face of a serious illness, less effective pharmaceuticals were given preference over more effective medicinal plants for reasons of profit.

* The plant, which is native to the Mediterranean region, has been the universal remedy of Greek monastic medicine for centuries. The main areas of application are sore throats and earaches, gastrointestinal disorders, skin and mucous membrane diseases as well as wound healing and hemostasis [1]. In 1999, Cistus Incanus was therefore voted "Plant of the Century" by the Würzburg society Herba historica e. V. [2]. Cistus incanus contains polyphenols and other tannins as well as essential oils. These substances have antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal effects, as well as anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, detoxifying, antioxidant, immune-boosting and astringent properties [5, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15]. There are currently no known side effects or interactions, and overdosing is unproblematic [2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11]. The plant is not only effective in humans, it also has a positive effect on animal health and milk quality [6]. The medicinal effectiveness of the plant is due to the vitamin-like polyphenols it contains [2]. Cistus contains more polyphenols than green tea, and its antioxidant effect significantly exceeds that of vitamin C [7, 11]. The antioxidant effect of polyphenols has been scientifically proven in other contexts, for example in red wine [8].

  1. Cistus has saved me from a more serious respiratory illness a few times. However, it did not help against influenza A. The benefits should therefore be treated with caution.

Welcome to this platform for the cultivated exchange of arguments.

We have forgotten how to endure contradiction. It is okay to disagree here. I would ask you to remain respectful and polite. Insults and hate comments will be removed in future, as will calls to vote for political parties. I reserve the right to delete insulting or derogatory comments. This public forum and its inherent opportunity to exchange arguments and opinions is an attempt to uphold freedom of expression - including freedom of dissent. I would like to see the old-fashioned virtue of respect cultivated here.
