Ready because you are!
What were the Green Party's copywriters and marketing strategists thinking with this election campaign slogan? When reading it, you should avoid swallowing the first vowel at all costs. Who wants to be broad and vote for a party that professes to be just as broad? Even Green voters were uncomfortable with that. However, this phonetic embarrassment is not my problem. My problem is a different one. For that I need to expand a little.
I am a big thriller fan, both literary and cinematic. For me, the film adaptation of Thomas Harris' novel "The Silence of the Lambs" with Anthony Hopkins in the role of psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter remains unsurpassed. Who was Hannibal Lecter? He was a psychopath and murderer. That may be true. But he was also a genius with an outstanding intellect. That's why the FBI needed his help as a profiler. He was also an aesthete who had access to all the arts. Literature, music, painting - Hannibal knew his way around. Etiquette and tact were important to the psychiatrist when dealing with people. He had an extremely sensitive streak. Dr. Lecter would therefore almost have become my idol if he hadn't had the highly unappealing flaw of liking to eat other people. As I am a peaceful person, I refrained from hanging up a poster.
If you've seen a movie a dozen times, at some point you start speaking the dialog. Everyone knows this phenomenon. A scene that took place on the top floor of the courthouse in Tennessee has literally burned itself into the memory. A makeshift high-security prison was set up here for Hannibal the Cannibal. An imprisoned murderer whose help was nevertheless urgently needed to catch another serial killer.
Enter Sergeant Pembry: "Ready when you are, Doc."
Enter Dr. Lecter: "Ready when you are, Sergeant Pembry." Sitting in his cell, deeply immersed in piano music by Johann Sebastian Bach, he asks for a little time and answers with a delay.
This dialog should herald the final moments in the lives of police officers Sergeant Pembry and his colleague Lieutenant Boyle. And this is where my problem begins. The combination of the Greens' election campaign slogan and the similarity to this dialog triggered an unpleasant mental cinema in me. I see Annalena Baerbock and Robert Habeck in the roles of Pembry and Boyle. It's not a nice mental movie I'm inviting you into.
The elevator door opens. Sergeant Baerbock and Lieutenant Habeck step out. Unlike in the original, they don't bring Dr. Lecter the bloody lamb chop he ordered. On the tray I see a green salad, a tofu sausage and a veggie burger. Suboptimal for gourmets. This is followed by a new version of the dialog.
"Ready because you are, Doc."
The Greens' election campaign slogan in the singular. Not good. Not good at all. Hannibal would have found this speech tactless in two respects. He would have preferred to be addressed in the singular. Above all, the use of the word "because" assumes Lecter's willingness. "If", or better still "if" - these would have been the linguistically polite variants. Accordingly, Hannibal's sarcastic reply "Ready when you are, young global Baerbock." follows immediately in my new edition. Not realizing the irony, Sergeant Baerbock reaches for the handcuffs and the usual procedure ensues. In order to bring the tray into the cell undamaged, Dr. Lecter must first be secured to the bars. The two police officers, Baerbock and Habeck, enter the cell with a false sense of security. False, because Lecter had long since freed himself using a broken metal part of a secretly stolen ballpoint pen. At this point at the latest, cineastes enter the FSK 18 area.
Imagine the situation figuratively. Or maybe not. There is a cash register recorder on the table in the cell. As mentioned, classical music by Johann Sebastian Bach is playing from it. For connoisseurs: it's the Goldberg Variations. Also on display are a gourmet magazine and, above all, the soft drawings made by Lecter himself of and for FBI agent Clarice Starling. Dr. Lecter now has an intimate relationship with her. I see three people. Lieutenant Habeck is standing in the prison doorway, lost in thought, playing with a bunch of keys, absorbed in the incomprehensibility of his own beauty. I see Sergeant Baerbock placing the tray with the vegetarian menu on the precious drawings and pressing the stop button on the tape recorder. I see Dr. Lecter stand up. He is not amused.
Three people with transformation intentions. Dr. Lecter wants to transform the two policemen into the afterlife. Habeck and Baerbock are inspired by the idea of transforming the whole world from Germany. I would like to end the movie at this point because I am an absolutely peaceful person. I condemn any kind of violent and thoughtless transformation. Therefore, I will not be one of the lambs that can be silenced.

I think this is a fitting quote from Peter Bamm:
„Die Wahrheit ist unteilbar. Nur die Köpfe, in die sie nicht hineingeht, können gespalten werden.“

On the other hand, truth is always subjective. I see it as a working hypothesis that needs to be constantly tested. Specifically, if anyone were to refute my truth about the corona narrative, I would be happy. Exactly the same applies to 9/11. Like everyone else, I have a longing for harmony, peace and security. Unfortunately, the truth is often not what we want it to be, which is why many people don't want to hear it.
Striving for truth leads to finding the truth, you have to want it. For me, this is the basis of justice, and ultimately of freedom, because no democratic community can survive without a fair balance of interests. That is the situation we find ourselves in. Many have resigned themselves to the decline in morals without considering where this can lead. We should work on this, many of us are already on the way.
Dear Dr. Wessel,
Mozart already composed groundbreaking thoughts in The Magic Flute when he has Sarastro sing: In these sacred halls, revenge is not known, and if a man has fallen, love leads him to duty... In these sacred walls, where man loves man, no traitor can lurk, because the enemy is forgiven. And then to sum up: Those who do not enjoy such teachings do not deserve to be human...
Perhaps we as humans will learn over time.
Mr. Linsner, thank you for the flowers. In 1973, my biology teacher Dr. Nawitzki, who was in his late sixties at the time, already questioned the truthfulness of television news. "Television is dumbing down the people." I couldn't understand this sentence back then, but shortly after leaving school there was a Chiquita sticker in the middle of the D plate on my old Mercedes in 1981. I had already learned a little something from the tendentious reporting on the Vietnam War, among other things. Apparently Helmut Schmidt was already a member of the Bilderbergers back then, as I found out this week, etc. etc. etc.
Such thoughts are oppressive; for me, the question of whether I would like to take a closer look at this Hannibal doesn't even arise. I found the one from Carthage much more fascinating as a boy in Latin class. The rise of the "Young Global Leaders", e.g. in the form of Ms. Baerbock, could also be frightening, but it doesn't have to be.
German post-war politicians have always been protected by the Anglo-Saxon financial elite. Even Helmut Schmidt, who long ago showed sympathy for the authoritarian leadership style of his good friend Lee Kuan Yew, who was Prime Minister of Singapore from 1959 to 1990. So nothing really new.
Even if we find it difficult, we should not let the negative feelings that are boiling up in us affect us too much. Ultimately, we are weakened by such feelings and set ourselves on the path that our opponents want to take us down. We should see that we can think much more clearly with a certain composure. On a spiritual level, the strength of the opposition movement lies in the current conflict.
The almost all-encompassing synchronization of the media, which has become obvious at least since 9/11 for those who want to see, is only partially effective, from my experience 60% of people are not convinced by the Corona narrative. The propaganda is becoming more and more aggressive and absurd. Nevertheless, many will not be convinced.
Eighty percent of the people I asked about their motives for being vaccinated said it wasn't for medical reasons. Ultimately, many felt coerced or wanted their freedom back.
The polls for the Bundestag elections clearly show that voters have understood that a change is needed. The parties that have made a name for themselves with absurd coronavirus policies are now being taught a lesson: Söder's CSU at 30%, CDU with the pale Laschet, who is essentially unpleasantly conspicuous with his Rhenish humor, at 20%. Baerbock leads the Greens back into relative insignificance 15%, Scholz as the good guy keeps a low profile and lets his Klabauterbach off the hook as the bad guy. Really not clumsy. G20 in Hamburg, Cum Ex and tax gifts to Hamburg's private banks leave little room for optimism. Nevertheless, the political class has certainly recognized that there are limits to anti-citizen policies.
The new parties, which were motivated by the unlawful restrictions on fundamental rights, are very popular. During the first attempt to found a party in May 2020 with Resistance 2020, over 100,000 people registered in thirteen days. Back then, the level of suffering was much lower than it is today, which is why I am convinced that there is still a lot of potential.
Furthermore, democracy is not forbidden, nor is free speech and, as always, thinking is partly undesirable but permitted.
Good conditions then.
Amusing, profound, ingenious...written.
The topic, which this great column so skillfully wraps up, is of course by no means amusing.
It is deeply shameful and sad what kind of politicians are in charge of our time.
Lea-Lina Opermann's book, What We Thought, What We Did, comes to mind.
What if you could force all the Baerbocks of this world to simply tell the truth?
Vielleicht gab es einen Tippfehler beim Setzen. Es sollte eigentlich heißen „Breit, weil ihr…“
Gning me the same with the tagline, but I thought he was saying it to Clarice Starling on the first visit, so of course it's even more horrifying.
Germany, I had to make another trip to another country in 1990 without having to change my place of residence. This change was not easy for me and certainly not without complications. However, as I have always been curious about new and unfamiliar things, I quickly took a liking to the new country. Above all, because it allowed me to discuss God and the world freely and impartially, without having to keep my mouth shut, as I had done from time to time in the previous country. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
Nevertheless, I have always done one thing in both countries. I went to vote. Not because I wanted to be a good citizen, but always because I NEVER wanted to leave my vote unused.
But I consider this upcoming election in particular to be the most important in the history of a Germany that has been forcibly united. Unperturbed by election forecasts from any institution whatsoever, I still hope that the manipulative nature of the poll results will be rebuffed and that the sovereign will do full justice to its enormously important role. For me, NONE of the so-called established parties deserve to be elected. And yet there is ALWAYS an alternative.
The movie itself frightened and fascinated me at the same time. Genius and madness close together. However, the title of the movie has often accompanied me in my thoughts in these special times, because it describes like no other exactly why it could come to this in this beautiful country.
By the way, the article is brilliantly written!
A marvelous production... and indeed terrifying. Now let's assume that what Dr. Lecter will do next will be done by us instead of him. Not physically, of course. The act we commit will take place in the voting booth. So we are dealing the Green Party the deathblow by not voting for them. Just as little as the CDU (Merkel's way), SPD (the man who commands so much respect that I don't feel like having any more of this kind of respect in what are now three financial scandals (Wirecard, CumEx, customs) and the G-20 party), FDP (the party that falls over), Die Linke (red socialism) and the aforementioned Greens (socialism with a green façade that destroys the environment and nature).
However, not voting is not an option.
Who takes the statements on election posters seriously anymore? Complex issues and problems can't be reduced to a headline anyway, let alone a program.
No one from the audience had asked this question either. So it doesn't seem to be important enough.
My mental movie:
A frightening and at the same time realistic scenario. The idea that we are to be governed by such people makes me break out in a cold sweat. The only option is to refuse to vote. But the falsification is probably already in the bag. A truly perfidious plan.
Wonderful contribution, I immediately had this movie scene in my head........
