Assad had to leave Syria, the rebels control the country. But why, what misconduct did he allow himself to commit?
The poison gas accusations against Assad were most likely false, existing gas was destroyed, the use against the own population by Assad's government troops is not proven [1, 2, 3] or in some cases not even militarily plausible, as the range of the Syrian missiles was too short according to a US source [4, 5]. According to Reuters, however, the use of poison gas by the US-backed opposition has been proven [6], and possibly even from a US military base located in north-eastern Syria [7, 8]. Within the OSCE, voices were raised that reports were falsified or withheld or at least contained inconsistencies [9,10]. The OSCE mission in Syria is financed by Western funds [11]. The British news agency BBC itself admitted to having falsified reports accordingly [12].
Another justification for why Assad had to go is torture. He is accused of having tortured political opponents. These reports originate, for example, from George Soros' Open Society Foundation; the lawyers making the allegations work for organizations that are linked to Open Society through partnerships [13, 14, 15, 16]. Although Amnesty International has published a corresponding report, it only quotes itself and does not name any other sources; there is no evidence such as pictures in the report [17]. Amnesty is also accused of being pro-Western [18]. Amnesty International is financed almost exclusively by donations; the donors are not named directly on the website, so that these accusations cannot be proven or refuted[19]. Against this background, it is not possible to assess whether Amnesty International is truly neutral.
The USA has been supporting Islamist terror for some time, and has also been planning to depose Assad for some time [20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 58], Saudi Arabia is also involved here, as is allegedly the Netherlands [25], and the German government is also said to have contacts with jihadists [26, 27]. In the past, the USA has repeatedly supported rebels and paramilitaries worldwide, e.g. in Venezuela, the most oil-rich country in the world [43, 44].
If Syria, Turkey and Iran were to unite, they would naturally become a major player in the Middle East, which Israel, for example, is also trying to prevent [45, 46, 47]. Against this background, Russian military bases in Syria naturally do not suit the USA either [48, 49, 50]. Like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the USA wanted to weaken Russia's supremacy on the European gas market via a pipeline running through Syria [51, 52, 53].
The US covers for the Kurdish PKK in eastern Syria and sells Syrian oil, which is transported via Turkey. Erdoğan's son has made good money from this; Syria was also an important supply route for Hezbollah and Hamas [54, 55].
The rebels of the Syrian opposition belong to a terrorist organization and were supported by Israel, the USA and Turkey, with Turkey and the USA also working against each other in some cases [28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35]. The USA has stationed ground troops in Syria, although this is contrary to international law [36, 37].
According to the US media, Christians in Syria do not only have to expect religious persecution from now on, Sharia law has already been declared [38, 62]. Against this backdrop, the question perhaps arises as to why the Heinrich Böll Foundation is allegedly financing Hamas [61]...
So after Libya and Iraq, we have the next failed state [39, 40, 41, 42], and the inhabitants of the failed states are paying the price [39]. Didn't the Federal Foreign Office claim to want to combat the causes of flight [56]? But what is the Foreign Minister doing? She now wants to send the Syrian refugees back to the Islamists [57]. Are the radical holy warriors really so much better than the elected (albeit corrupt) president, who has won several elections with large majorities [58], although according to US sources, his supporters were murdered by unknown forces after the elections so that they would not stand in the way of protests against him [64]?
The principle seems to apply here that the enemy of my friend (Assad as an economic opponent of the USA) must also be my enemy and the enemy of my enemy (the Islamist rebels as enemies of Assad) must be my friend [63]. The State Department should do just as well with this as with a 360° turnaround [59] or 1.3 billion EU citizens [60]...

I have far too little understanding of how an Arab society works, is it still the tribes that are decisive? I don't even know objectively what form of Sharia law is involved here. It is possible that the change of power means anarchy and chaos. Nevertheless, at least geopolitically, there could also be good things in this development. Israel had its back to the wall, all three fronts were fueled by Iran, which will now be much more difficult. This significantly reduces the likelihood of a possible nuclear escalation. Hamas' calculation of using its terrorist attack to tempt Israel to commit genocide may be working, but the new geopolitical situation is making it futile. As a German, I am glad that Israel is able to stand its ground against all expectations. However, I do not agree with the treatment of the Palestinians by parts of the Israeli population in recent decades, but I hope that there will be more competent voices than Germans of all people to speak out on this. As Germans, I see us more in the position of providing humanitarian aid than wanting to intervene there in a quasi-formative way. The same applies to Syria, of course - and Ukraine, after all, my father went there involuntarily as a teenager with a carbine in his hand. There are still many opportunities for improvement in every respect, no one will want to stop us, we can start "doing" - how nice.
The case of Syria exemplifies the entire double standards and hypocrisy of the "value-oriented" Western states with the then messiah Obama. As such, you are allowed to invade seven countries during your term of office. In his much longer term of office, old Vladimir "only" managed the Ukraine invasion and was forced to do so. Of course, that doesn't make it any better, but the real culprits here are also the USA, which at least condoned this war with its vassal states. In any case, I can't remember Syrian flags waving everywhere as a sign of solidarity after the American war of aggression in 2014 as they are now for Ukraine. Well, maybe I just didn't understand that back then it was really a liberation struggle against the "dictator" Assad, who oppressed his poor population. That's the difference to the evil Russians. You just have to recognize these subtleties. Incidentally, the aforementioned evil Russia only intervened in the conflict as part of its role as a Syrian protecting power when Syria asked it to, not before! In any case, I can no longer see these blue and yellow flags of this now fascist state, some of which are still present. The same people were probably fanatical 2G supporters and are taking to the streets against fascism and discrimination. After all, they are the good guys and it is always better to be on the right side. Germany, a united madhouse! So, enough ranting, I wish all readers and the entire Club team a relaxing holiday season and a happy new year.
Thank you too. For the future, I would like to see the restoration of an open culture of discussion and a return to common sense. First of all.
It is extremely sad to see what kind of creature humans have developed into. He could act differently. But this creature is the way it is. It is much easier to organize your life at the expense of others. It has never been as easy to play war as it is today, all it takes is one irresponsible software player. Robbery and murder are quicker ways to get what you want than through honest and sincere work.
Man has never emerged from his cave existence. He has probably tried to perfect his cave on the outside, but this species is still too stupid for that, see the abundance of his building laws and regulations, which could not be more contradictory. You have to agree with Kant when he wrote: you can't make a straight carpenter out of such crooked wood as man is carved from.
The sad thing about this statement is that it is such a gross understatement.
What is happening in Syria is the continuation of the Muslim Brotherhood's 'Islamic Spring'. Whether Assad, Gaddafi or Mubarack, they were the best presidents of their respective countries when it came to keeping fundamental Islam in check. The only ones who still don't want to understand this or oppose it are Germany and the EU as a whole. In the media and politically, the EU and Germany are in favor of Islamic terror. They support the conquest by Islamists, they finance this invasion and they sanction anyone who denounces Islam as the most dangerous, most misanthropic ideology. For 1400 years this totalitarian danger has been recognized and banished. Now, thanks to left-wing politics, it is on a triumphal march around half the world.
In the fire of propaganda and counter-propaganda, it is difficult to discern the truth. - However, the strategy behind the events is clear. It follows the plan outlined by Bresinsky and detailed in several strategy papers by Western think tanks: encircling Russia by admitting former Soviet states to the EU and NATO, including Sweden and Finland. Ukraine plays the main role in this if it is removed as a buffer state between NATO and Russia, thus massively reducing the Kremlin's second-strike capacity. As things are not going as planned, the West must first be satisfied with a "Korea solution". At the very end, Putin can do nothing more than surrender (because he, or his successor, is running out of economic steam) or reduce the world to rubble. This is the idea behind the neocons' approach. And thus the finalization of the Second World War and the Cold War. - Secondly, take out Iraq and Afghanistan in the Middle East and, with the help of Israel, launch an attack on Iran, which would certainly have to be carried out with nuclear weapons. - Syria is only the first act in this drama, in which Israel and Turkey can also help themselves. Assad had to fall because he was simply in the way. No matter what he did or didn't do. Whether the attack on Iran takes place depends on how strong Russia still is and whether the mullahs are prepared to go to extremes. - For the West, "victory" does not necessarily mean "taking land"; destabilizing partners of the other side is also a victory. The think tanks' papers also state the date for the armed conflict: 2025 - although the West is very sure of winning in the end because its military superiority is 10:1. If the military budget is increased to 3 % of GDP, 15:1. Yesterday's speech by Rute, in which he calls on the economies and financial institutions of NATO countries to make themselves "war-ready", proves what has just been said. - We will see what role Trump plays in this, and whether he can play one at all. The "Kennedy solution" has been tried and is certainly not off the table. But Assad was just a small domino that had to fall.
The West has imposed sanctions on Assad. Syria was still a relatively stable country. Assad was fighting against many terrorist gangs. I thought it was unspeakably bad that Assad was ostracized to such an extent and that the oil was stolen on the side. I couldn't find any evidence against him either. It's a shame, Damascus was a beautiful city. Now madness reigns and this madness is to be financially supported by Germany again. Allegedly for reconstruction. At the same time, the destruction and occupation continues. Peace, diplomacy and proper economic relations instead of robbery and war would be more worthy of civilized humanity.
