Firewall against the people
"On September 1, 1939, the Second World War began with the Wehrmacht's attack on Poland."
This is how a ZDF commentary begins yesterday evening, September 1, 2024. It was read out by the experienced editor-in-chief Bettina Schausten. After the introduction, Schausten draws a historical arc from the murder of 6 million Jews to the election results in Saxony and Thuringia. To the two elections on Sunday, which were scheduled exactly 85 years after the start of the Second World War.
The parallel drawn between the darkest chapter in German history and yesterday's election result is outraging many people right now. Nevertheless, the comment comes as no surprise. The much-discussed text was already in the drawer. Ms. Schausten has been moderating the elections all evening. She is therefore unlikely to have written her personal opinion spontaneously between two interviews and projections.
Bettina Schausten thinks the election result is dangerous. I think her reaction to the election is dangerous. The political media's reactions are characterized by hysteria and hubris, by stupidity and arrogance. Above all, they show an ignorance of the will of the voters. The responses from politicians and the media show a firewall against their own people. That is the real dangerous phenomenon. That is the real danger to democracy.
There we have the salad. The East German voter is definitely right-wing extremist. After all, the AfD is definitely right-wing extremist. Worse still, the typical Ossie with an internalized dictatorship gene doesn't seem to care that he is right-wing extremist.
Exaggerated and pointedly formulated, this was the frustrated tenor of many journalists' reaction to the election results in Saxony and Thuringia. This analysis is certainly wrong in several respects. It is true that the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is a political authority that only exists in Germany and Austria and, according to its head Haldenwang, has set itself the task of lowering the AfD's poll ratings. It is true that a court in Münster has ruled that the Office for the Protection of the Constitution can name and monitor the AfD in this way without giving an assessment of whether this accusation of "secured right-wing extremism" is also correct in terms of content. It is true that the average AfD voter is annoyed when they are called right-wing extremists. They just don't care about the defamation.
From media ignorance to political ignorance towards the voters. In Thuringia, the "traffic light" parties now only have a total of just over 10 percent. This does not prevent them from continuing to be convinced of themselves. Their work is excellent. It just needs to be better explained so that voters recognize it. The eternally repetitive phrases from Saskia Esken and Omid Nouripour plus acknowledgements should not be recited at this point. The FDP also thanks its voters and wants to continue fighting for liberal values, according to official statements. If Lindner & Co had fought for liberal values in recent years instead of betraying them, they would have received more than one percent of voters. The party leadership's thank you to FDP voters may soon take the form of personal phone calls instead of tweets.
The CDU is the big winner. Thuringia's CDU leader Mario Voigt declares this despite a clear nine percent deficit to the AfD. What ignorance towards the voters. The runner-up declares himself the winner and General Secretary Linnemann defines firewalls. The AfD is generally not talked to. That is well known. Cooperation with the Left Party was also ruled out before the election. Actually. And the party doesn't really want to work with Sahra Wagenknecht's far-left and far-right alliance, those Putin friends. A lot, actually, and yet the Secretary General claims in front of the camera that the CDU is taking a clear stance on what it stands for. It does not. The CDU turns right during the election campaign and then reliably turns left after the election. That is ignoring the will of the voters. It is a firewall against its own people. And anyone who is happy that the AfD is being prevented in this way in the short term should be aware that it will strengthen the AfD in the medium term. Bettina Schausten should also be aware of this. Politics and the media cannot elect a new people.
Another sad chapter of public broadcasting began on September 1, 2024. One or two political media ivory towers need a window to take a look at the reality of people's lives. This is how democracy can be saved, not with more firewalls and anti-fascist ramparts. These have also existed in German history.

The fact that the ÖRR has now made it its main task to ideologically re-educate fee-payers in line with a left-green-woke agenda is as intolerable as it is illegal. I wouldn't mind if it were privately financed propaganda radio, but as it is, it is unacceptable and violates the tasks and objectives of the ÖRR as defined in the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty. The ÖRR was created after the Second World War in order to prevent a one-sided media dictatorship following the experiences of the NAZI era. Many of the left-green zealots in the ÖRR are obviously unaware of this fact. In its current form, the ÖRR has lost all legitimacy.

Dear CdkW,
the remarks of Mr.
Langemann and Mr. Löcke is
again - almost - nothing to add.
◾️Ausnahme / claim 1):
New elections in Saxony; without delay!
There are - in the meantime - a few too many election scandals on the ground:
1)
First a late and strange "software error", which does not affect everything at the same time (then), but (of course) negatively only the AfD and its blocking minority.
Oops...!
2)
Then, suddenly, there is still this phenomenal behavior of voters of a Saxon town with a turnout of even 103%...!
Wow...
3)
Now the appearance of definitely forged postal voting documents, also in Saxony.
Amateurishly glued; that too.
Such Hallodris...!
Yikes...
The recount of all votes would have been obligatory in a Bonn republic even before the clear forgeries that have now emerged (in Saxony).
This is no longer enough.
Ergo:
New elections in Saxony!
Immediately.
Otherwise: Sachsensumpf...
◾️ Exception / requirement 2:
Germany needs - at the latest since the last Berlin elections - absolutely neutral, diverse international election observers.
During the entire process of elections in Germany.
Obviously...!
Point.
So.
Yours sincerely
Lucy
Just thank you!
...the CDU is currently dismantling itself...nobody - not even the AfD - wants to revive Nazi socialist atrocities. What is the 'firewall' against? You can't want to chill 30% of the voters. There is a crystal-clear democratic vote for blue/black. When will politics finally return to substantive discourse instead of losing itself in hollow phrases of its own color? Freedom is the freedom of dissent...and one would expect better opposition work from the CDU. The AfD is simply stronger in this respect.
I am delighted with the results of the elections in Saxony and Thuringia!
Brilliant, Mr. Löcke!
I can only agree with the praise. The example of Schausten shows how one-dimensional thinking is promoted in a bubble. Unfortunately, this has disastrous effects on many people who have little time for political education and only consume excerpts from the MSM.
Now I also have to share a few splinters of thought.
1. all ÖRR and other hysterics should perhaps ask their local fire department how to fight a fire. A firewall is certainly not recommended. Or perhaps ask the US National Park Service, they have described it beautifully (translation / https://www.nps.gov/orgs/1965/index.htm):
"Managing fires is complex (. . .). Wildfires have a great potential to change park landscapes and do so more frequently than volcanoes, earthquakes or even floods. In many ecosystems, wildfires are a critical natural process. In fire-dependent ecosystems, many plants and animals cannot survive without the fire cycles to which they are adapted. If all fires are suppressed, fuel can build up, making hotter and more destructive fires inevitable."
2 It is true that the CDU and AfD have a mathematical majority. But do they fit together? Perhaps on migration policy, if the CDU finally overcomes its Merkel past. But when it comes to other key issues such as war and peace (Ukraine), dealing with the coronavirus, climate policy and education policy, I see more overlap with the BSW than with the CDU. The situation is complex.
3. thanks for reporting from the ÖRR bubble. I left it a long time ago because the imagery and news selection was too manipulative for me - and I only check back when I see something like this. There are now also media alternatives. For once, I recommend being "colorful and diverse" here, otherwise you'll just change the bubble.
4. to Ms. Schausten: presumably she belongs to the same religious end-time sect as those who firmly believe that this planet is doomed in the short term due to "global warming". Controlling opinion by spreading panic. No firewalls will help here, but rather arguments. Which brings us full circle to the alternative and new media.
In my opinion, the electoral law should be changed to the effect that the two strongest parties, i.e. 1 and 2, must form a coalition because that is what the majority of voters want; anything else is cheating the voters. These elections in Thuringia and Saxony have shown that voters want conservative policies (from which, in my opinion, the CDU has already moved a long way away, but in the minds of voters that is how it exists) and by no means a traffic light government.
You can't eat as much as you want to eat. This synchronization of the media is typical of fascist and authoritarian states. It's terrible. I don't understand why these people don't fear the day when things change.
A very weak performance by this woman, and the political media establishment in general is acting a little unhappily, driving voters into the arms of the AfD, as we have just seen. How about making progress towards solutions instead of claiming that nothing can be learned from the challenges that arise. Keyword: ability to learn or even just willingness to learn. Alexander Krah from the AfD calls the other parties cartel parties, which sounds a bit like unfair agreements, like a single party. Especially in the Corona period, pandemic can no longer be said after the publication of the RKI files, there were indications of a bloc formation, which can still be understood today by the refusal to come to terms with the situation. It can be assumed that continuing like this will ultimately strengthen the AfD more and more. Everyone works for the AfD and Björn Höcke looks on with a grin.
This country is currently heading for the wall economically and socially and instead of rebelling against it, the Norwegian sweater faction is taking to the streets against the right. As if it were still a question of left or right!
Today I am downright relieved that there are many people who appreciate it when a party has a concept to counter the current development and the AfD has one, even if the "media" always deny it. I am very curious to see how things will continue now.
To be honest, I have been moving away from this masquerade of "democracy" for decades. If we had a real democracy and the rule of law that goes with it, this traffic light coalition should have been terminated without notice by the employer (the German people) a long time ago and damages demanded from all those involved. That would be a functioning democracy. In the Germany of the last few decades, some background powers are determining the course of action through the mainstream media and are ruining Germany, which has apparently been planned for a long time.
The only question is, when will the German people wake up? Were the first signs visible yesterday? It would be desirable!
Thank you Mr. Wolf -
Yes, that's also how I see the situation in Germany. Cui bono? Who has such an evil interest in this and in literally destroying our country?
destroy? Surely the same 'power' that lures the left-green 'politicians' in some way to turn themselves into traitors to their country and high traitors.
And the really bad thing: Why is nobody apparently willing or able to uncover this mess?
Dear Mr. Löcke, you speak from my soul.
These are exactly the words I used today
Addressed to my husband tomorrow.
Unspeakable how undemocratic the so-called self-proclaimed democrats are behaving.
Self-criticism and rethinking: no way!
Before the election, they pretended to be, but in reality things are continuing as before!
Exclusion leads to nothing good!
Neither is calling voters idiots!
how true.....it's a disgrace what's going on here right now.
What right do the supposedly good parties have to ignore the will of the voters?
To claim that the voter voted the wrong way out of frustration and did not put the right cross in the box
the young voters do not know what they are doing (until now I assumed a secret ballot)
.....Distraction of the previous "people's representatives" from their inability / ignorance to represent the German people as it is actually their task ......in the service of the German people.....
Who is the problem here and the danger to the German people...I wonder.
Democracy ...does it still exist?
