Right-wing smear campaign or left-wing advertising campaign? That's what the heated debate about the Brosius-Gersdorf personnel issue currently boils down to. Only one thing is certain. Three constitutional court judges will leave and be replaced by three others. That leaves 16 constitutional court judges, divided between two senates.
At least, one might say. There are other government positions that remain unfilled. The highest offices remain open. These posts remain vacant for longer than many a boxer's world championship title. These are official heavyweight titles such as "President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution".
As a reminder: Hans-Georg Maaßen was temporarily retired on November 18, 2018. The background is well known. Just one week later, on November 15, 2018, his deputy Thomas Haldenwang was officially appointed Maassen's successor. Almost exactly six years later to the day, Haldenwang's days were also numbered. Following his announcement that he would run as a CDU candidate in the 21st Bundestag, his office as head of the agency has officially been dormant since November 13, 2024 [1].
This is where it gets interesting. Only shortly afterwards, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced that she wanted to present a successor as quickly as possible. After all, this was about nothing more and nothing less than the defense of democracy against enemies from within and without [2].
"I will decide on Thomas Haldenwang's successor as President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution as soon as possible. And that means before the Bundestag elections and, if possible, before the end of this year."
Nancy Faeser on 18.11.2024. Why was this so important to her?
"Because I don't think it's responsible for us not to fill the office for an extended period of time in these times of such major threats to our internal security."
Apparently it wasn't that important after all. In July 2025, eight months later, the post of President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution is still vacant. The issue is hushed up. Politicians and the media shrug it off. Do you know Silke Willems and Sinan Selen? I didn't know them until two minutes ago. Those are the names of the two vice presidents who have been in temporary charge of the authority for eight months.
Let's move on to another (non-)personal matter that is even less scrutinized. The Paul Ehrlich Institute, the little brother of the RKI, has long been criticized for coronavirus. Cover-up, concealment, refusal to work and ignoring press inquiries. These are the core accusations. The criticism is aimed at the serious collection of data on vaccination damage, as this is actually one of the mandatory tasks of the federal authority PEI. The emphasis is on the word "actually". Reading tip? Journalist Norbert Häring has been providing information in his blog [3] for years. Larger media outlets are also taking an increasingly critical view of PEI's work, such as here [4] in a recent WELT article. The disturbing data on corona vaccination side effects are criticized. So the air is getting thinner for the PEI.
But back to the topic of unfilled positions. The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut naturally has a president named Stefan Vieths, who took over from Klaus Cichutek at the end of 2023. That is true. But the presidents saw and still see their main task as promoting the curative effect of medicines, especially vaccines, to the public. The Pharmacovigilance Department within the PEI has the thankless role of carrying out a fact check on the advertising message of its own presidents. This department researches and records what should not actually exist - vaccine damage! You have to dig around a bit and look at the PEI's organization chart [5] to find out the name of the head of pharmacovigilance. With a reported 900 employees, surely there is someone who is primarily responsible for the problem of vaccine injuries?
No. The head of the pharmacovigilance department is called "N.N". These are not the initials of the head. This means that there is no chief responsible for the problem of vaccine injuries. "N.N." means nomen nominandum, which means "name to be mentioned". The abbreviation is used as a placeholder in event announcements when some of the actors appearing at the event have not yet been determined.
Why do I take a very critical view of the fact that important positions that are supposed to be filled remain unfilled for long periods of time in practice? I answer this question with a comparison from the everyday life of every citizen. Who doesn't remember the good old days when you still had contact persons and telephone numbers for questions or complaints and the service world was not yet dominated by FAQs, bots and AI? You called an insurance company or public authority and were put through to a person who proved to be responsible and competent for your problem. If customers and citizens were not satisfied with the employee's answers, they could turn to their supervisor if necessary. But what if there is no superior, no main person responsible?
Do you have a problem with constitutional protection or vaccination damage? No connection at this number.

Mr. Löcke, where you are right, you are right. It's not just at the highest level, as you describe it. What else can you expect if things aren't going well at the very top? As a small nobody, you have to deal with banks, insurance companies, telecommunications companies, etc. until you can finally present your concerns to a living person, for which the AI cannot offer a reasonable solution. In a recent case, I wanted to activate the access data for a new bank account, but the
Aktivierung schlug fehl.
I always look forward to your further comments! So keep up the good work.
"IT is designed to solve problems that would not exist without it."
That's exactly how it is and can be safely generalized - because it's generally like that...
Analogous to this, I remembered a Sponti saying from the 1980s: Teachers are people who help us to solve problems that we wouldn't have without them...
(https://www1.wdr.de/nachrichten/doctolib-arzttermine-praxen-patientendaten-ki-100.html) one learns that there are only appointments in the distant future... I notice more and more often that the doctors make themselves scarce, really isolate themselves...
