Lyrical contemplation XVI

Away there
Hermann van Veen

Quickly away there, away there, away
Make way, otherwise there'll be a fight
We are late and have no time

Quickly away there, away there, away
We are terribly sorry,
We'll barely make it, there's still a long way to go

We have to run, jump, fly and dive,
Fall down and get up again straight away

We must not lose any time
We can't stand here, we have to go
Another time with pleasure
Then we sit down
And talk about God, the lottery and the world

Well then, take care, see you soon
There is no point now
We have to leave urgently, because time is money

We don't have a minute or a second left,
We have to hurry
Come on, add another tooth
It is high time for us

Quickly away, away, away ...

Away there - Hermann van Veen

  1. "Little Fratz" Alfred J.Kwak" "Why am I so happy" and "I know" have helped me through many a difficult hour! Such a wonderful person and artist!

  2. I have both feet firmly in the clouds,
...this wonderful artist accompanied me for a long time in my youth.
And no matter whether he was saying "Life is like snow" or singing about broken wings, it always went very deep.

Thank you that there is a space for this here.

  3. Oh how nice. I've got rid of a lot of music in the last two years. But not Herman van Veen. Thanks for reminding me.
    "Looking for some warmth
Some protection and some fun too
    Submerge without thinking
    A fleeting dream
But it was hardly more than that."
    My favorite song ...

    1. This song always made me feel anxious. My favorite song was "I have a tender feeling for every good-for-nothing, every guy who roams free without a goal, who is nobody's servant and nobody's hero. I have a tender feeling for the one who opens his mouth and shouts when he feels like it.

Welcome to this platform for the cultivated exchange of arguments.

We have forgotten how to endure contradiction. It is okay to disagree here. I would ask you to remain respectful and polite. Insults and hate comments will be removed in future, as will calls to vote for political parties. I reserve the right to delete insulting or derogatory comments. This public forum and its inherent opportunity to exchange arguments and opinions is an attempt to uphold freedom of expression - including freedom of dissent. I would like to see the old-fashioned virtue of respect cultivated here.

"Controversy is not an annoying evil, but a necessary prerequisite for the success of democracy." Federal President Dr. h.c. Joachim Gauck (ret.), only 5 years ago in his speech on the Day of the Basic Law.
