Comment by Markus Langemann //
On coalition fantasies, pragmatism and the chance of a Lady Legislature
There are those rare, precious moments in politics when a hint of truth suddenly flickers - between smoke grenades, rhetoric and party tactical platitudes. It flickers. "I think Wagenknecht and Weidel are great. Together in government - that would be good for Germany." A sentence spoken this Monday, casually over coffee in my office. Spoken by a man who has not only seen the Oval Office from the outside. Just a few days later, that very constellation unfolds, half wishful thinking, half provocation,
as if the political media theater had suddenly picked up a new plot.
Well, some call it heresy, others clever anarchy. But what is emerging between the AfD and the BSW - or perhaps not - is more than just the whispers of a startled republic. It is a political tipping point.
Because there he was, Tino Chrupalla, the Saxon carpenter of the right-wing bar, talking on television about talks - "about what moves Germany". And lo and behold, the journalistic landslide followed promptly. Suddenly there was talk of two parties closing ranks, which - as different as their origins are, as similar as their diagnoses are - are opposing the madness of the traffic lights with an intellectually ammunitioned refusal.
Of course, Sahra Wagenknecht is playing it down. Still. No talks at the moment. But, in her words, a meeting with the AfD is "of course" possible, because it is "undemocratic" to exclude them in parliament. Please! These are sentences from the old breviary of common sense - one that has long been gathering dust on the shelf of political relics in Berlin's government district.
We are currently witnessing the beginning of a political taboo being broken. And perhaps also the beginning of an unholy alliance - or perhaps a healing one.
Because let's not kid ourselves: The similarities are there. Migration, Ukraine, social issues - these are not sideshows, they are the arteries of the republic. And while West German AfD members are still unfamiliar with Wagenknecht's rent freeze, they have already practiced pragmatic handshakes in the East. Thuringia sends its regards.
And now let's imagine that: Two clever, battle-hardened women - Weidel and Wagenknecht - who don't get worked up over gender issues or body shaming, but instead govern the country with intellectual clarity and iron composure. Both with an academic sword. One with an East German character, the other with a libertarian outlook and economic brilliance. A lady legislature. Why not?
Oder höre ich Sie etwa schon schreien? „Halt Kommunistin! Niemals eine rechte Extremistin!“
Now, while hamburger-eating party leaders of the CDU and CSU are stealing each other's meatballs from the party buffet and mashing the office to the point of ridicule, W&W (Weidel and Wagenknecht) could actually fill the vacuum left by a gutted democracy between talk show quotas and government failure.
Will that happen? Probably not. Not yet. Too many egos, too many legacy issues, too many string-pullers in the shadows. But the bridge piers are already being cast. In Thuringia, BSW met with Björn Höcke - a man with whom even many AfD members are looking for an escape route. And yet: the political will to move is there.
Perhaps it will remain a selective cooperation. Perhaps it will be a pact of shifting majorities - as Wagenknecht suggests. Or perhaps the realities of this country, which has abandoned sound judgment in many parts, will force a historic closing of ranks after all. Not out of love. But out of necessity. Even the necessity of gaining knowledge? It is probably the BSW that is looking for a big sister.
Nevertheless, some call it populism. I call it: the chance for political immunization - against stupidity, moral megalomania and the self-abolition of one's own reality of life.
Because the country, dear readers, does not need new ideologies. It needs plain language, clear vision - and clarity about who is at the helm when the steamer "Germany" gets ever closer to the iceberg.
W&W - that could be more than just an acronym. Perhaps it is the last offer of political common sense.

So far, so good. But to accuse Weidel of economic brilliance is audacious bullshit. If anyone has studied economics in depth, it is undoubtedly Wagenknecht.
Leider wenig erfolgreich. Führungsfähigkeit ist bei ihr nicht sehr ausgeprägt. Aber bei Frau Weidel auf jeden Fall.
I hope I don't live to see what Mrs. Feldbauer says, because then we can shoot ourselves right away
They would just both have to jump over their shadows
None of the commentators see the real problem! It is neither parties nor individuals, but the system itself. Democracy is rule by the people, rule requires violence! Democracy is the rule of the majority by force against the individual. Is that so difficult to understand? Whoever wants to lead, democracy destroys itself according to its own definition, because violence demands violence, demands violence, demands violence, ... ! In this spiral, the individual is dumbed down beyond recognition, barely able to recognize colors, to choose, to follow colors into the abyss! A high level, especially among the so-called intellectual elite, as can be seen here. Greetings from Dresden
Only those who are still attached to the wrong self-image feel insulted.
This is not the fault of the speaker (writer) - but a developmental task of the listener (reader).
W&W, a long-overdue integration that could take away some of the aggressiveness of the AFD and give the BSW a greater sense of reality. There is still a lot of wishful thinking, because at the moment tolerance and showing strength by being fundamentally united is hardly achievable in Germany. Society's leaders are too confused, too mistrustful and too unwilling to compromise.
W&W - I have wanted this for a long time. May common sense finally prevail.
I feel the same way - there are also many similarities. To save Germany from ruin and destruction, I would be more than happy with this merger. 2 women with brains.
Dear Mr. Langemann,
Anything is better than what we have had for years. Nevertheless, I would ask you to bear in mind that the left-wing Antifa will then certainly blow up a storm and smash everything to bits. Sometimes I get the feeling they're just waiting for it.
So many intelligent people around me would rather perish than even give the AfD the chance to prove itself and turn the tide.
I don't think there will be anything left to do in 3.5 years, by then we will be digitally enslaved and just puppets. Too many people are simply asleep or deliberately looking the other way. To be able to say in 5 or 10 years that we knew nothing.
I hope I will be proven wrong.
Best regards
Claudia Feldbauer
Dear Mr. Langemann,
I have been thinking it for some time now and would have liked to see BSW and AfD working together in Saxony. For exactly the same reasons that you mentioned for the FRG.
Thank you for your courage in publishing these thoughts.
It is always a pleasure for me to read your lines and it helps me to see this world a little more soberly.
I am active in the peace movement here in Dresden and sometimes frustrated by how few of my fellow human beings realize what is being played with us here
A poem by Erich Weinert comes to mind that he wrote in the 0s of the last century:
Erich Weinert
VACATION OF AN APOLITICAL MAN (1930)
The postal clerk Emil Pelle
has a plot of pergola land,
where he digs after work
and also spent the vacation time.
A summer arbor with wallpaper,
a stable building, flower beds,
nicely bordered with fresh gravel,
are Pelle's summer paradise.
Although paradise is quite narrow
with a side length of fifteen meters;
but he plants his pot of flowers
as worthy as the good Lord.
In the background of the cozy arbor
Chicken, rabbit and pigeon camp
and deliver a high percentage of manure,
which can be used for the beds.
Early in the morning, he wanders through the grounds
and feeds his livestock.
Then he polishes the vegetable patch,
where he sowed various seeds.
Then he stops on the folding chair
his afternoon nap in the cool,
And in the afternoon, around three,
comes rabbit breeding.
On a bench under oak trees,
that do not quite reach above it,
he sits until the sun goes down,
while drinking his coffee.
And peacefully in the evening glow
he splashes the flower beds
and closes the chicken flap,
then comes the after-work rest.
He thinks: What else can endanger me
Here is my heaven on earth!
Oh, such an evening with music,
You don't need politics!
It only gets in the way during the vacations,
What are the ministries for?
That's what they're employed for,
and for our money to boot,
Everyone has to build their own happiness.
Why should I care about others?
And peaceful like a patriarch
Mr. Pelle begins his snore.
With this in mind, have a nice and above all peaceful summer
Where rainbow flags fly,
Bankrupt vultures crow
Where rainbow flags fly,
Black-red-green sits on the throne,
much, much more will perish
than industry and production.
Because no system in this world
is characterized by sustainability,
where people think nothing of correction,
the free word to the grave.
Where woke climate gender sects
dictate policy in the country,
manifested in delusional projects,
What else is supposed to work?
What they are already wasting money on,
You can't help but scratch your head,
NGOs, renewables, migration, the media - they are banging on,
what is not on the red-green drip?
Now even the rouble is set to roll
for armament and the military,
do not draw from the full,
but debts are increasing.
All this behavior is astonishing:
What has happened to Germany?
You can't hear any more whispers of an upturn,
only bankrupt vultures crowing jubilantly.
I have been reading your comments for many months and am always impressed and grateful for the courage you all continue to muster ‼️
Thank you ‼️
I express the hope that this may please remain so
Please continue to be the beacon of light that we so desperately need to keep going ❤️

This cross-front could get us out of this mess!
I don't think Waigel and Wagenknecht are great and together in government is a horror. ... but "... what comes and what doesn't come, doesn't come" ... at my advanced age, these two will certainly outlive me. Germany deserves better, but the alternatives seem very limited.
I can only agree with this comment.
Why don't they try to work together to get Germany back on its feet, which has only been exploited and run down for decades now, but instead practice using lies and slander to outmaneuver their so-called opponents. For a long time now, it has no longer been about the people but about power games, whereby the real experts are no longer available, but rather unskilled workers, school and university dropouts, etc.
...you speak from my heart...I cannot write more about your lines...
Best regards
Yes Mr. Langemann, it is worth a try. What we have now is leading us to our downfall and to becoming slaves of the old parties. I have fully supported the AfD since 2013, but Sahra Wagenknecht also has very sensible views. It would be worth a try.
W. AND W I would be thrilled, hopefully it works out,
...my dream for a long time...the W&W monarchy ; )...two real dream women who give honor to the feminine again.
If the old, possibly outdated, political class were to continue as before, it would be expensive and would probably ultimately lead to civil war and/or open war against Russia, which would be accompanied by martial law and the end of our democratic society. I see fewer and fewer solutions coming from Berlin and Brussels. Instead, the problems are getting bigger and bigger. The population's fear of epidemics, climate change, refugee flows, populists and extremists is being reinforced. I don't see any effective countermeasures. Voters are beginning to realize that things can't go on like this. It seems to me that, at least programmatically, the AfD corresponds to the CDU of the 1960s and the BSW to the old SPD. Back then, Germany was developing positively. The small, insignificant state of Thuringia could actually put the AfD, like the BSW, to the test as a state government. Oppositional talk would have to give way to government action. It will be interesting to see.
