As a historian, I have been deeply appalled for months at how ultimately, on the basis of mass PCR testing alone, an entire society, entire nations, can be collectively led into division and, above all, irrationality.
For weeks I have been asking myself: where is Europe's so-called academic elite from the fields of history, political science, sociology and psychology who are standing up and shouting: "Enough!"
With a (total) "war against the virus" (Macron) - as in any war - thousands or millions of "civilians" (in this case Healthy) lose their existence, made ill, ultimately killed. (1)
Where are the many prominent European figures from the worlds of science, art, literature, music and film who are joining forces and calling out to the public? Enough is enough! We demand an end to (not only media) Covid-19 totalitarianism!
Three years ago, the renowned German historian Philipp Blom, who lives in Vienna, wrote this admonishing book: What's at stake!
Everything is now at stake: human rights, social peace, freedom, democracy, prosperity, work, tolerance, public health (not because of the virus, but because of the highly disproportionate nature of measures such as the lockdown) and, quite simply, human dignity.
People have fought for all these humane achievements, sometimes for centuries, and many have lost their lives. These humane achievements are not a law of nature, not divisible, not negotiable, not interpretable and also not measurable.
It is not without reason that the greatest peacemaker of all time, Mahatma Gandhi, reminded us: "Those who silently accept injustice are complicit in it!
As a reminder: totalitarianism and fascism are the spiritual children of Europe. Between 1914 and 1970, around 100 million people lost their lives in all world wars and civil wars, in all totalitarian societies in Europe, regardless of whether they were based on right-wing or left-wing ideologies!
All of Europe's totalitarian systems - National Socialism, Stalinism, Italian fascism, Franco's dictatorship in Spain, etc. - were not made possible by those in power, not by the leaders and commanders, but without exception and again and again by the people. tolerating or silent majority! By the denunciators but also by the discouraged and fearful. By those worried about their possessions. In the end, almost everyone lost everything: possessions, honor and human dignity.
I am speaking here not only as a historian and childhood researcher, but first and foremost as a father of three.
On World Play Day for Children on May 29 and World Children's Day on June 1, most public play facilities for children were still closed! - While beer gardens, DIY stores and the Bundesliga had already been open for weeks!
A society that implicitly says that children and young people are not "systemically relevant" does not want a future!
Since the end of March at the latest and up to now, all international studies on SARS-CoV2 have shown the following: This virus is completely insignificant for children and adolescents. They play no role whatsoever in the infection process, they rarely become infected and if they do, they usually do not get sick at all. (2)
A positive PCR test result does not automatically mean infected! - This should be known, understood and comprehensible to every journalist in Germany and Austria by now. And actually being infected (with SARS-CoV-2) does not mean that you will also become (seriously) ill with Covid-19.
It is not without reason that every manufacturer of a PCR test points this out: The test is for diagnostic purposes not usable.
A positive PCR test says nothing per se. Forcing children and young people to wear masks and quarantine on the basis of a positive PCR test alone is child abuse and quite simply a crime against humanity. There has never been and still is not a single evidence-based medical and therefore legal justification for this!
The "Parents Stand Up" initiative has conducted a nationwide survey among pupils on the obligation to wear masks at schools. An initial interim report of 2,300 questionnaires, which I have received, paints the following devastating picture:
For example, 44.1 percent of the students surveyed suffer from breathing difficulties. 73 percent suffer from headaches, 86.4 percent from fatigue, 65.7 percent from concentration problems, 38 percent from dizziness and around 36 percent from anxiety.
As a historical reminder: for centuries, Europe's schools were primarily a place of religious, political or ideological indoctrination and, above all, a place of violence and denunciation. As a historian, I've been troubled for months by the feeling that since March, Europe has been literally letting all the negative genies of the past centuries out of the bottle in one fell swoop.
Now a small excerpt from the history book of horror and horror at (mainly) German kindergartens and schools in 2020, with interim evaluation of 2,300 questionnaires:
In some crèches and kindergartens, parents have to hand their children in at the door, even during the so-called settling-in phase, because adults are not allowed to accompany their children!
Entire school classes sit in classrooms with open windows, wearing masks and damp jackets all day long!
Time and again, pupils collapse because of wearing masks and are also punished with denunciation and exclusion!
Young people are constantly being told that anyone who doesn't wear a mask is a murderer! - While dozens of studies worldwide now prove that wearing everyday masks does absolutely nothing to contain the spread of the virus.
Pupils are only allowed to drink and go to the toilet according to schedule, not according to need!
In some schools it is no longer permitted to shower and blow-dry your hair after swimming lessons!
Time and time again, children are scared to death with the argument: If you don't wear a mask, it will be your fault if grandpa and grandma die!
The above is madness, is pathology, is child abuse! Healthy people are being made ill here!
With which Law (in both senses of the word) we are collectively robbing a whole generation of children and young people simply all? - Acquisition of (healthy) skills, relationships and friendship, education and training, sport and health, freedom and self-efficacy, simply completely the Future!
Recently, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, spoke of a "human rights catastrophe" at the 41st session of the Human Rights Council. "But if the rule of law is not respected, the health emergency threatens to become a human rights catastrophe whose negative impact will long exceed that of the pandemic itself," warned the UN High Commissioner.
To all supreme and constitutional judges in Germany and Austria: End all Covid-19 measures for young people, for children and adolescents immediately, end the mask requirement and school closures, end the exaggerated hygiene and distance rules, come to your senses and look to Sweden!
The young Astrid Lindgren, author of Pipi Longstocking, wrote the following sentence in her diary in the 1940s. "Humanity has lost its mind."
Sweden in 2020, a country that has neither implemented a lockdown in March nor introduced a general mask requirement to date. No school closures and, above all, no compulsory masks for children and young people. Sweden has not yet had the hundreds of thousands of deaths predicted by Merkl, Kurz, Drosten and co. Sweden is not making healthy people ill and is not abusing its children and young people by forcing them to wear masks!
Could it be that Covid-19 has mutated into a political virus in many parts of Europe? A small but possibly clarifying detail in passing: Sweden is still neither a member of the eurozone nor NATO. While Germany and Austria, for example, are in a second lockdown, schools, restaurants, gyms, cinemas, etc. are open in neighboring Switzerland.
On November 11, 2020, a Portuguese appeals court (Tribunal da Relação de Lisboa) became the first court in Europe to lift the quarantine requirement for people who have tested positive. The court's reasoning summarized: The principle of "in dubio pro reo" applies to courts. The PCR tests are unreliable and testing positive does not necessarily mean contagious or infected. According to the court, only a doctor can make a medical diagnosis. (3)
Could it be that we are merely witnessing a gigantic and historically unprecedented abuse of medical and political power? That a virus is being used as a scapegoat for something else?
Children and young people are not a virus threat to society, nor are the elderly, sick and elderly. Children are and will remain our only future!
Anyone who can't stand a child's laughter, who can't stand a child's mental health, who forces children to wear masks and other things, is sick themselves. Not sick with Covid-19, but with unkindness, ignorance, hatred and dehumanization.

Icelandic tracing pioneer Kari Stephanson, CEO of deCODEgenetics, has not found a single case of a child under the age of ten infecting their parents.
The director of the US CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), Robert Redfield, explained that the number of additional suicides and drug deaths among young people in recent months has been far greater than the Covid-19 deaths.

A joint report by Sweden (without the closure of elementary school) and Finland (with the closure of elementary school) concluded that there was no difference in infection rates among children in the two countries. This joint government report from Sweden and Finland was published by the international press agency Reuters, which reported on it on July 15, 2020. In other words, weeks before the introduction of state coronavirus measures in schools in some German states such as North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria.
A British study found that up to 60 percent of children and adolescents and around 6 percent of adults already have cross-reactive antibodies against the new coronavirus, which were created through contact with previous coronaviruses.
After the first lockdown, Saxony was the first federal state to start regular school operations, which were scientifically monitored by the University of Dresden. Study director Reinhard Berner explained to the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper on July 13 that, in summary, children are acting more as a brake on the infection than as a carrier of Covid-19.

@Scaring children: Have you heard of the scare paper? This is (was) a secret Home Office document that has been leaked describing how to scare children by suggesting they will be responsible for the death of their grandparents if they don't follow the rules. As an educator, I am shocked at how children can be subjected to such psychological damage. How can these people look in the mirror? Thanks for the good contribution. I also have 3 children, almost all grown up, 2 of them involved in degrees (university, school). For us, the psychological issues (anxiety) are superficially less problematic. We are more concerned with the current clear deficiencies in the way schools are fulfilling their educational mission, which we believe puts graduates at a considerable disadvantage.
As a family and parents, we work together to prevent panic by remaining calm and confident, as well as having a vision. Even with our grandmas and grandpas (80 to 89 years old, some with serious pre-existing conditions), we are completely calm. Extreme (!) worry and fear are always bad advisors.
Background: I myself usually travel permanently on all continents for work, including countries such as India, Brazil, Colombia, South Africa, Malaysia, Peru ... I regularly encounter potentially fatal bacterial or viral diseases. I can therefore classify COVID 19 very well from several years of experience: it is not a deadly virus, but it is risky for some people in our society. For me it is clear: we have to treat ourselves and others with care. When I travel, the most important thing is good preparation, combined with 'keeping your distance' and hygiene. Sometimes a vaccination also makes sense, but this should always be carefully considered on a case-by-case basis. I'm not a fan of vaccinations, but this personal consideration has sometimes led me to get a hepatitis or yellow fever vaccination after all. I have never contracted the disease and, as far as I know, I have never endangered or infected anyone else.
I have to be able to expect our politicians to demonstrate what I consider to be the basic behaviors of a role model personality. If they are unable to do so, they must vacate their position immediately. It must not be an excuse to say that you could not have imagined ever having to make such decisions during your term of office (not quoted, but in line with Dr. Markus Söder).
I have often wondered why our decision-makers have not sought real professional advice from those who are trained to act confidently and responsibly in extreme situations: e.g. pilots or passenger ship captains?
What would have happened if Chesley Sullenberger, the US Airways pilot who accomplished the feat of landing his Airbus in the Hudson River in a uniquely extreme situation without any human casualties, had panicked or communicated in panic: "disaster is imminent", "I don't know if we can make it out unscathed", "it's up to you how well we get out of here" ...? I took a very close look at the communication on board: it was purposeful, clear, cool and confident. All the passengers had the confidence that it only worked because HE was the pilot.
He would have been unprofessional if he had communicated badly and that is exactly why the plane would have crashed with > 150 fatalities. But it didn't!
You must therefore be able to expect these leaders to weigh up and act with confidence and to guide people calmly and clearly as to how they can best master the situation together.
And that is exactly what our politicians are NOT doing! And that is why they are not living up to their responsibilities here! I maintain that this is in particular a lack of personal suitability or ability. In the case of individuals, other, less honorable motives may also come into consideration...

You speak from my soul - I am 78 years old and have spent many years in many parts of the world on business and privately - and have experienced hardship and backwardness, illness and hunger. I never got sick myself - .
What bothers me at the moment is the hysterical work of many politicians, who it is clear that they are completely insecure, even overwhelmed, and who obviously have little idea of clear and entrepreneurial behavior. It is pure inexperience with which infection control laws are implemented - with collateral damage on an unimagined scale. And Dr. Söder explains to us quite simply that the lockdown must now be extended.
Question: Who has failed to protect the nursing homes and the staff there and who has failed to procure the vaccines in time?
Who is responsible for the thousands of bankruptcies we are facing or the inactivity of service providers who are no longer allowed to work with people?
Great article! Great comments! There are still real people out there. This conformist and uncritical righteousness, which can be experienced in everyday life full of assertiveness, makes you really sick. Continuities from the Nazi era to the present day are recognizable. Authoritarian and rigid patterns of behavior are repeated. Where is the sensitivity of many doctors, politicians, heads of administration, employees at health authorities, etc.? Where is the empathy and humanity? I (largely) agree with a lot of the content - as long as it focuses on the political, economic, psychological and sociological consequences.
From a medical point of view, which I would separate from the rest as it is a different level, I see gross shortcomings. I assume, as initial studies have shown, that the children can carry the infections into the family. I also think that many are or have been infected, which a PCR test can also show. Certainly a lot depends on the CT value with regard to the risk of infection. And yes, it is not suitable for diagnostic purposes.
For me as a social scientist, however, the focus is on the first-mentioned points; a healthy distance is usually enough for the rest, as Ebola is certainly more deadly. But I have doctors in my circle of acquaintances and in the neighborhood. Their experiences in the hospital are anything but pleasant.
Nevertheless, as a liberal democrat, I see extremely dark clouds on the horizon, the Basic Law is de facto out of force, the Federal Constitutional Court is massively bending the law, e.g. with the demo bans - we are increasingly lurching towards a totalitarian start. And indeed, we must research the background (follow the money) and adequately fight the devils behind it (cui bon). Article 20(4) of the Basic Law, it will not (cannot) work any other way, as MASSIVE forces with enormous amounts of money are working against democracy and eroding it with increasing speed.
Don't write so much - organize and fight. Like our forefathers!
Mr. Hüter, thank you very much for this well-founded article, which speaks from my soul, as it apparently does for everyone here. In my opinion, the main problem is the self-proclaimed corrupt "quality media" with its wave of panic that has now been going on for ten months. Incidentally, I haven't followed this media for years, neither on TV nor on the radio, at least not any information programs, which I consider to be popular stupidity. Differentiated and critical reporting would never have led to a lockdown. The extent to which legal action can be taken against this is currently being examined by Prof. Schwab, among others, if I interpret his statements from the last meeting correctly. According to my assessment, which is based solely on common sense, things could get very tight, at least for the "Öffis", as they have demonstrably not fulfilled their mandate to provide balanced reporting in any way. Apart from that, it's really scary how easy it is to manipulate people, regardless of their level of education. When I told my parents the other day that there is no scientific evidence for the effectiveness of masks, my father was immediately aggressive. He said that we should just follow the government's measures and that was that! Then he just left. At first I wanted to say to him, how good it is that you didn't live 80 years ago, but then I left it at that for the time being out of consideration for my mother. But despite such negative experiences, giving up is not an issue for me. The Drosten seems to be a thing of the past, even if the general public hasn't noticed it yet. But it will slowly leak out. That will also happen with the PCR test lawsuit, I'm sure of it. The leading media won't be able to prevent it. As far as I'm concerned, in the last few weeks I've produced some flyers myself and distributed them through letterboxes. These contain relevant information and references to some important websites such as the Corona Committee or Dr. Wodarg. My letter was very polite and at the very beginning with the request not to tear it up, but to read it and pass it on. I would like to bring a completely different aspect to the topic of "Who benefits from all this". First of all: I absolutely agree with the article and also subscribe to the comments listed here, because what is happening here is a huge lie and a large-scale campaign.
I cannot prove whether it serves exclusively to enrich the pharmaceutical industry and a few individuals, so I will hold back a little on this, even if the past and my experience can confirm this. I also worked in the so-called healthcare system for almost 40 years and know that it's not about health in any way! It's about keeping people alive because they no longer generate income when they die! But they mustn't get well either, because then they won't generate any more income either!
But something else could be an answer to the question of who or what it benefits. And this answer would explain many questions and inconsistencies.
When we look back, it becomes clear that we are at the end. The economy, financial systems, healthcare systems....everything is exhausted and at the end, a collapse of these systems is imminent. We have reached the peak and have actually long since passed it, but have clung on with some kind of rescue system (e.g. zero or even negative interest rates) to avoid the crash. At some point, however, even these lifelines will break and the crash will follow. In the past, this has always ended in war, in the last 75 years mostly regionally. But these were also sideshows, diversionary maneuvers, lifelines. I've been waiting for the big bang, World War 3, for years. If Corona is the "substitute" for World War 3, then we can only be grateful! As bad as everything that is currently happening is, we have to be clear about one thing: a world war would be many times worse and would inevitably end in a nuclear war, which would wipe out all life on this planet...and in a much crueler way than what is happening now!
Yes, millions of people will die, yes, our world will become an isolated world (hopefully only in the short term), but there is a chance to survive. And then, then it can start again in a completely different way, in a positive, more human way.
I could imagine that our politicians (or rather those who govern us, i.e. one step above the politicians) have also recognized this and are using Corona to make a new beginning possible. With selfish, materialistic and rather dictatorial thoughts, of course. But they will not succeed, because the "other side", the lateral thinkers, the club of clear words and...and...and will know how to prevent this.
And we can all do something: THINK POSITIVELY! Stop complaining about the "bad guys", stop fighting, but recognize what the plan is and mentally oppose it and, if you are open in this direction, pray. Do not bring in negative energies, but positive ones! Presenting counter-arguments objectively and calmly would be one way, as Mr. Hüter is doing here.
Fighting is the worst way, I realized that back in the 70s when people took to the streets to FIGHT for PEACE. That was a paradox for me.
And the fact that fighting doesn't achieve anything is proven by German history: all the resisters were eliminated. Yes, they are honored today, but did they change anything back then? NO! Unfortunately.
Let's keep it positive. Let's show the "believers" the evidence to the contrary. Without proselytizing, without fighting. However, I fear that social instability will increase in 2021, even without the "pandemic" narrative. The problems you have correctly described (economy, financial system, etc.) have not been solved in any way - cohesive forces are decreasing and centrifugal forces are increasing.
In addition, large sections of the scientific community, the authorities, the government, the leading media, etc. have taken an oath of disclosure.

...with increasing age and previous illness, the proportion of hospitalized people increases...as with any viral disease. The only difference is that the population group of over 60s with pre-existing conditions accounts for ~1/4 (23 million) and over 40s for more than half of the population (~46 million) in Germany...it's not nothing, but every countermeasure must be proportionate (!) and sensibly targeted - and it is imperative that politicians seek broader expert advice on this...what are we doing to the next generation? Their mental health, education, environment and finances are being ruthlessly thrown overboard and the youngest, who are not affected at all, are being given a false sense of guilt... Where is the intergenerational contract??...

The propaganda is working, months of brainwashing! Even in spring I often had to think of the movie "The Wave". There is only Corona, no conversation, no news program in which Corona or pandemic is not mentioned in the first sentence. There are so many lies or distortions, truths are omitted and I haven't watched any news programs for weeks. Although there is talk everywhere of an emergency in hospitals, especially due to staff shortages, clinics can afford to ask staff who are exempt from brand exemption (for health reasons) to stay at home free of charge.only the indication that this can be seen as discrimination against people with disabilities made them give in.this is probably an attempt to get rid of staff who are currently not needed (vacancy of the clinic at approx. 50%). This government is using its citizens' fear for their health as an excuse to push through its political goals. There is simply too much evidence and contrary opinions from experts who are at least as competent as the courtiers of our so-called representatives. Unfortunately, a large proportion of the population, especially the elderly, have no access to the Internet. These people are bombarded and influenced almost around the clock by government TV, radio and the press. How are they supposed to get information about the other side of this so-called pandemic, how are they supposed to get to know the opinions of independent experts and get facts and realistic figures from those labeled as 'infected'? I live in the country, grandma and grandpa are in their mid-eighties - I regularly provide them with information about the 'pandemic'. At first they couldn't believe it, but now they are grateful that they too are aware of the previously 'hidden' aspects of this global upheaval. Everyone should and may have their own opinion and this must be accepted in a democracy. History has shown that no government has ever been able to survive for long with the help of defamation, denunciation and slander - I hope and want to believe that this will happen again today.

Doctors, lawyers, other virologists etc. have been trying for months to bring about a change or at least a review of the whole thing, unfortunately without any visible success. I also no longer understand the media. No matter where or what you read, see or hear, it's always the same scaremongers at work.
My dear husband is 78 and ill, so he's a high-risk patient. And he only ever hears about the deaths, the higher the number, the worse his fear. Everything I've shown him, everything I've asked him to listen to, he always finds counterarguments in the negative. For me, this is slowly becoming a kind of brainwashing. I can't convince him to accept another opinion, it's the deaths that scare him, and I find that worrying.
But other friends are also completely off the mark. Prof. Drosten has become a kind of "holy savior of the nation". Every other argument is swept off the table and now many should/want to be vaccinated. I have to say that my husband is of a different opinion, fortunately. His motto is to wait and see. Has anyone ever read or heard anything about the consequences of the swine flu vaccination? I hadn't, until a few weeks ago, on the internet, and it wasn't good or reassuring. But I couldn't check the comment.
I hope that all the lawsuits that have been filed will at least somehow be made public so that more people start to think.

I am afraid - not for myself but for my children - why is it not working to stand up to all these politicians? It seems to be even worse here in Austria, where many people follow our Kurz as if he were their son-in-law.

When our son and daughter-in-law (also both teachers) announced to us, beaming with joy, that they wanted another son, we looked at each other and asked "Do you have to bring another child into this world and this country?". We were ashamed of these thoughts afterwards. But all we could think about was corona, masks, distance and IT IS FORBIDDEN.
One of my granddaughters is 4 years old and loves horses and would like to learn to ride properly, but it is FORBIDDEN! I don't understand what a horse, a lunge line and a riding instructor 3 meters away have to do with Covid-19... I could list 50 examples. But why doesn't the majority of the population notice? Are we doing too well? Are we all too fed up to do anything? Are we all afraid? At a peaceful DEMO with candles there are 100 citizens with masks and distance. Why aren't there 10,000 who say no to all the bans? It worked in 1989 too. We were there.
